American Red CrossOver the course of a year I had the opportunity to engage the Marketing organization as well as the Communications organization in an attempt to find solutions for some of their most pressing business and operational challenges.
Intranet Research Roundup This document is the consolidation of a number of quantitative and qualitative research activities as they relate to the redesign effort of the American Red Cross’ intranet, “CrossNet.” The research provides insight into the current state usability of their vast ecosystem of digital properties but more importantly paints a picture of the organization’s diverse user base as well as their behaviors and attitudes towards the digital tools they most leverage to do their jobs. In addition to crafting the survey questions and summarizing audit findings I worked in tandem with another colleague to conduct and synthesize the output from the array of stakeholder interviews. Intranet Chapter Council On-boarding This document served as a tool to on-board a representative cross section of Red Cross chapters. The contents were aggregated from the breadth activities and deliverables within the prior “Discovery” phase. The goal was to employ this “Chapter Council” in a type of collaborative design practice to ensure their interests and opinions both informed and validated the development of a new user experience for their localized intranet. In addition to conceiving of the idea I facilitated the workshops which ultimately produced a set of annotated wireframes to be used in the development phase. Intranet Annotated Wireframes This deliverable represents the key set of user experiences that were born from an Experience Strategy Brief and fleshed out and extended through the series of workshops mentioned in the context of the “Red Cross Chapter Council Introduction.” In addition to leading the client workshops I managed several IAs, a content strategist and functional analyst to render and annotate the output. Intranet Creative Designs This deliverable represents the evolution of the wireframes as a tool to depict information organization and functionality to a closer representation of the actual user experience which is infused with the brand personality. Again, I oversaw the visual design team and worked in conjunction with Red Cross executives to settle on the new look and feel.
